Read this before reading about each character so you understand the info.
Sonic The Hedgehog is probably the most expansive and most popular videogame series on the market, ever since its debut back in 1991. The story consists of an incredibly fast little hedghog named Sonic who's parental past is blurred from facts. Sonic grew up most of his life helping others, even if it meant bending the rules of the law. Now, as time goes by, he continues to meet up with various characters who play important roles in his life. Soon after making his two best friends Tails and Knuckles, Sonic and the other two formed a gang called the 'Freedom Fighters'. They would try their best at helping the poor and weak in a law-bending yet unharmful way. Dr. Robotnik on the other hand is a selfish man who continues to try and destroy Sonic and his pals. By creating his own force of allies, he too has a gang meant for one thing - destroying Sonic's gang! As you read the following biographies, you will understand why the battle between Sonic's gang and Robotnik's gang has started, and why it continues to rage on! With this overall explination in mind, you can now read on and enjoy the individual character biographies I have in store for you. Only characters that have deeply effected the game history have biographies.

SONIC
Species: Hedgehog
Abilities: run at high speeds, spindash, flash jump, light speed dash, light speed attack (attacks depend on what game your playing).

Sonic is a loyal yet rebellious character who fights for what is right and for freedom of the innocent animals that his enemy Ivo Robotnik harshly captures. Since a young child, Sonic was a gifted child with the ability to run at high speeds. After the disappearance of his parents, Sonic has been on his own from a young teenage age. After being assaulted constantly by the "Eggman" a.k.a - Robotnik, Sonic started to see the true potential of his special abilities. He was faster and smarter than any other hedgehog on Planet Mobius. Sonic soon he met Amy Rose, another hedgehog with the gift of speed, though she couldn't run as fast as Sonic. Soon, Amy fell in love with Sonic, but Sonic didn't exactly fell the same for her. However, he would still try to protect her if anything happened. Sonic is friendly, yet demanding, giving him the trait of leadership. Others find it easy to be his friend by living with the fact the Sonic gives up for nobody. He's his own follower. After a brutal fight with Robotnik about 6 years ago, which Sonic successfully won at, he started to realize that it would take more than his own power to stop Robotnik should he come back again. While running down a street one day, Sonic ran into a homeless pup named Miles Prower. The pup was lonely and Sonic took him in. Soon, Sonic gave the young pup a new nickname which he liked - Tails. Tails would be Sonic's best friend from that point on. The two are known for their successful defeat against Robotnik's "Death Egg" attack vessel, which was a large floating battleship Robotnik used to scavenge Planet Mobius. Sonic and Tails destroyed this vessel twice; once on Mobius, and again on Floating Island. After many adventures with Tails, Sonic met Knuckles and discovered the 7 Chaos Emeralds, which were located on Floating Island above Planet Mobius. At success that Sonic retrieved the Chaos Emeralds, he discovered a new gifted ability he had. By holding a worthy amount of special Golden Rings, and holding the Chaos Emeralds as well, Sonic could transform into what could only be described as "Super Sonic". This ability was limited each time Sonic collected rings, giving him more speed than ever. With all abilities at hand, Sonic is a powerful and legendary hero who won't stop until his goal is met.

TAILS
Species: Fox
Abilities: fly for a limited time using tails, run quickly using propelling of tails, rapid tails attack, spindash.

Tails was a young pup named Miles Prower many years ago. Born with a unique ability to fly using two tails, he wasn't always loved. He was abandoned by his family, labeled a freak, and sent out as a loner. One day, while running down the streets at high speeds, Sonic The Hedgehog bumped into this pup, who was crying in an alley. After conversation, Sonic took the pup in, cleaned him up, and treated him like a son. He was then given a new name - Tails. Later on, during a massive fight with the evil Dr. Robotnik in his massive "Death Egg" vessel, Sonic was hurt and was raised by a giant crane. Below him was a bubbleing pit of pure lava. Robotnik released the crane's grip on Sonic and let him fall. In an instant, Tails flew low and grabbed Sonic by the hands, flying him to safety. It was at that moment Sonic realized this pup's special attributes. Sonic was flown to safety, and Robotnik was defeated once again. A few years later, Tails departed from Sonic after Sonic defeated Robotnik on Floating Island. Sonic was successful, and he and Knuckles the echidna teamed up to stop the remainder of Robotnik's forces. Back on a small, remote island (which is only known as 'Tails' Island'), Tails was taking a quick vacation. Suddenly, the island was taken over by a clan that was only known as "The Bird Force". They wanted to wipe out all forms of life and take over Tails' Island. With some skills he learned from Sonic, Tails was successful at taking down The Bird Force and their main Battle Fortress. The island's peace and beauty was restored. With a kind heart and caring personality, Tails is a smart and loveable character with much gratitude towards his friend, and close-to-father, Sonic.

KNUCKLES
Species: Echidna
Abilities: glide, dig, climb, spindash.

Raised to be brutal, loves to be brutal, and always is..well...brutal. Knuckles is a fierce creature who sticks up for himself and always resorts to violence quickly. His determination skills keep him alive. During his entire life, Knuckles was the guardian of the Master Emerald on Floating Island - a quiet and peaceful world strung high above the Planet Mobius. With its mystical power, the Master Emerald was the only thing keeping Floating Island (a.k.a - Angel Island) in the air. Somewhere else on the island were the 7 Chaos Emeralds. Should the 7 Emeralds ever be combined with the Master Emerald, there would be a horrible disaster. Knuckles... did not know this. After a series of odd earthquakes and unnatural fire storms, Floating Island became the playland of the evil Dr. Robotnik, also known as the Eggman. Knuckles was severly injured by these fire storms. In order to fool Knuckles into killing Sonic The Hedgehog, Robotnik stole the Chaos Emeralds. He would then lie to Knuckles and say that this was the only thing that could be done in order to stop the destruction, and that Sonic was responsible. What a lie. It was Eggman who was causing the storms. Eggman was responsible for everything. When the dust was settled and the storms were dead, Knuckles opened his eyes to Eggman. Just as planned, Eggman lied to Knuckles and tricked him into becoming his ally. Knuckles then agreed to help kill Sonic The Hedgehog once and for all. As time went by, Sonic and his sidekick Tails had experienced several encounters with Knuckles. Finally, after destroying Robotnik's creations yet again, Sonic was able to prove to Knuckles that the storms and destruction were in fact caused by Eggman. He also explained to Knuckles about the Chaos Emeralds and their power. With this, Knuckles realized that Robotnik would return yet again, so he teamed up with Sonic and Tails for the next battle for Mobius. About 6 years later, something terrible had happened. Eggman got a hold of the ancient Stone Tablets in the Mystic Ruins. They foretold the real danger in combining the Master Emerald with the Chaos Emeralds - a great god would be realeased. The God of Destruction. This God... was Chaos. Years earlier, a girl echidna named Tikal had sealed Chaos into the Master Emerald. The only keys that would allow him to escape were the Chaos Emeralds... and now Eggman knew this. Eggman stole the Chaos Emeralds and freed Chaos under his command, demanding ultimate destruction at will. That wasn't enough for Eggman. He started to FEED Chaos the Emeralds - causing it to GROW! Soon Chaos had the power to defy his master, and escaped the cluches of Robotnik, consuming Emerald after Emerald until he grew into this massive beast of horror! Station Square was his playland. Hundreds of people died... and there was nothing Knuckles could do. Why? Because Knuckles used his anger and negative energy to power the Chaos Emeralds. Not positive energy. Chaos had already taken in all of the negative power. Sonic The Hedgehog was the only other being alive who could possess the positive power of the Chaos Emeralds. As done before, he transformed into Super Sonic, battled the mighty beast, and vanquished it down to its original form. Peace at last. The fear of combining the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds... was lost. Now days Knuckles continues to protect the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds. From now on, fear has turned into faith... and an enemy has turned into a friend.

AMY
Species: Hedgehog
Abilities: Very quick, especially at wacking her hammer

Though much is hidden about the hyper, yet caring Amy Rose, stories have still popped up. How or when Sonic met Amy is still unknown, and even though their relationship is strong, they hardly have time to be around each other. However, Amy has more of a crush on Sonic than he does on her. Sometimes Sonic is even annoyed by Amy's constant following! One time, Amy was kidnapped by "Metal Sonic", a robotic and mechanical version of Sonic built by Dr. Robotnik. After many encounters, Sonic and Amy were able to destroy Metal Sonic. Recently, Amy helped out in the battle against Dr. Robotnik's threat of Perfect Chaos, a morphing, dinorsaur-like monster which Robotnik enslaved and helped grow with the negative power of the Chaos Emeralds. After a cruel attack on Amy's home city (Station Square) by Robotnik, Amy earned reason to help her wanna-be boyfriend and his friends in the pursuit to save the world yet again. By using the positive power of the Choas Emeralds, Sonic was able to unleash Super Sonic and destroy Robtonik's creations yet again. Amy is mostly thanked for causing the mental reconstruction of Robotnik's Gamma Bot E-102. By simply talking to the robot, and showing it had freedom of its own, Amy was actually able to prove who was bad, and who was good. This cause E-102 to help destroy the other E-100 robots and save Sonic some time and energy! Amy can now be considered a hero of her own from now on.

DR. ROBOTNIK
Species: Human/Robot/Eggman
Abilities: Mechanical skills.

Ever since a young child, Mister Ivo Robotnik had a huge fascination with mechanical and robotic creations. Upon constant experiments and discoveries, Mr. Robotnik soon received the name Dr. Robotnik. One day, while experimenting with dangerous chemicals, a blue hedgehog named Sonic had stopped by. When Robotnik opened the door, the hedgehog claimed he was both tired and thirsty, so he took the hedgehog in and gave him some water. While walking around the house, admiring all of Robotnik's creations, Sonic spilled some of the water into a larger beaker on accident. The effect was massive. An explosion occured, and Sonic ducked just in time. The harsh chemicals blasted into Robotnik's face, turning him into an evil, half-robotic man. As Sonic moved away in fear, Robotnik exclaimed that "to his dying day" he would find a way to deliver payback on the hedgehog... even if it meant Sonic's death.That was the one incident that occured which made Sonic and Dr. Robotnik enemies for life. A simple accident was all it would take. Through the years, Sonic has met new friends, new enemies, and new threats of life from the persistent Robotnik. Soon he was given the nickname "Eggman". About 7 years ago, Robotnik built the "Death Egg", a massive attack vessel he used to roam Planet Mobius. Sonic, and his ally Tails, were able to destroy the vessel after hard work. After that, Robotnik rebuilt the vessel to roam Floating Island, a peaceful world that sits high above Mobius. Sonic and Tails were able to defeat that one, too. But recently, Robotnik has pulled off one of his most genius creation - The Egg Carrier - a huge, mechanical ship of terror. Not only was that pulled off, but Robotnik had the power to release a creature called "Chaos". Chaos was a liquid-based monster who was trapped inside the Master Emerald. Robotnik used the legendary Chaos Emeralds to realease him and allow him to grow. For more information about these Emeralds, see Knuckles' profile. By using the positive energy of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic unleashed Super Sonic within. This not only lead to the defeat and recapture of Chaos, but Robotnik's Egg Carrier ship was destroyed during the event. Robotnik has not been seen since. Don't bet on him not returning though, Robotnik will still be that same persistant enemy he always was.

FANG
Species: Weasel
Abilities: Sniper (bounty hunter), thief.

Fang is an elusive, cheating weasel who was hired by Dr. Robotnik about 2 years ago to help kill Sonic The Hedgehog. You may also recognize him under the name "Nack". Don't be fooled! Nack was his birthname, and Fang was his bounty hunter alias. Fang started his criminal life under his birthname, Nack. He was a brilliant thief who stole expensive riches from others and sold them for his own profits. Soon the law started to catch up with him and he started to hide. He then went under his alias: Fang. He competed in several events and cheated to win. He later set himself up for hire as a bounty hunter. This is where Dr. Robotnik came in. Robotnik hired Fang secretly in an effort to steal the Chaos Emeralds and destroy Sonic The Hedgehog at the same time. However, Fang eventually failed at his mission. He never really played an important role in the Sonic history, and left it all behind without a trace. So what ever happened to Fang? To be honest, the world may never know. For some unknown reason, he just vanished from the Sonic history and never made a comeback. Because of this, there have been rumors floating around the perhaps Robotnik vanquished him in an uproar, or that maybe even Sonic himself could have destroyed him for good. One of the most popular rumors states that Knuckles may have been responsible. No matter the reason, Fang is gone, and millions of people have just claimed him missing and dead. Of course, this proclamation of supposed 'death' could be false, but it's the most logical reason as to why Fang has dissapeared. We may never know what truly happened to him.
Sega said Fang vanished from the game series because of a public survey that concluded that he was unpopular and that concerned parents even considered him to be Vampiric. For these reasons he was removed from the game series.

E-102
Species: Robot
Abilities: Built-in weaponary.

E-102 was suppose to be one of the most dangerous robots ever built by Robotnik in effort to kill Sonic The Hedgehog. It's nickname was "Gamma". He belonged to Robotnik's E-100 series force of killer robots. It had guns, lasers, and more. It had power. It had a mind of it's own... that's where Robotnik made his mistake. There was a major flaw in E-102's prgramming - it would go against Robotnik instead of Sonic! That's all there was to it! Now, after E-102 realized the pure evil in Robotnik, he had recently set out to stop him. With unlimited technology defense and attack abilities, E-102 was smarter than ever. He was able to stop Robotnik's most advanced creations. After realizing he was being powered by a captured bluebird, E-102 actually shut himself down, freeing the bird inside and destroying himself permanently.

Metal Sonics
Species: Robots
Abilities: Random attacks, including flight and laser attacks.

In order to destroy Sonic and his friends, Robotnik built a series of evil 'Fake Sonics'. The first was Silver Sonic. Robotnik had to think of a way to trick Tails into believing that Sonic had become a robot. This was his best. However, before the plan could be finished, Sonic and Silver Sonic ran into each other in the Scrambled Egg Zone. After an intense battle, Sonic successfully destroyed Silver Sonic and later the Death Egg Vessel. Later, Sonic met Amy Rose. After realizing that Tails may be a bigger threat than suspected, Robotnik built a brand-new creation and named it Metal Sonic (also known as Mechasonic in Japan). It would be used to capture Amy. Metal Sonic was even more dangerous than Silver Sonic. After being constantly taunted by Robotnik and Metal Sonic, Sonic himself pursued Amy and eventually came face-to-face with Metal Sonic. Yet another devastating battle led to Robotnik's defeat. Metal Sonic was destroyed, Amy was saved, and Sonic came out with only a scratch. Ever since, Robotnik has not yet built another Fake Sonic, but don't suspect that he won't. Metal Sonic and Silver Sonic have been seen on the Egg Carrier being revived. However, the Egg Carrier recently crashed into the Mystic Ocean near the Mystic Ruins. It looks like Robotnik is gonna' have to start from scratch if he wants to create yet another Fake Sonic.
